Surely the main reason people travelled to the Tower was because they worked there? The Tower was a busy community and had markets, houses, stalls and workshops as well as the Mint, military, storehouses, the arms and weapons were stored there, hundreds of people came and went all the time as well as the prisoners and Royals.
Yes, but they’re not the ones mentioned in the records as they were just getting on with their day to day lives. The ones I come across in my research are travelling there for a very different reason, not so good!
